PAID, Inc.
Formed in the 1960's, the original mission of Pottstown Area Industrial Development, Inc. (PAID, Inc.) was to promote commercial and industrial development in the Greater Pottstown Area.
Over four decades, PAID, Inc. developed and sold a 32 lot industrial complex known as the Pottstown Airport Business Campus, and along High Street they secured commercial retail properties and resold with financing to attract new businesses to downtown Pottstown.
In 2009 an Urban Land Institute (ULI) study determined that Pottstown needed a nonpartisan organization to oversee the borough's economic development plan. Re-formed under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Borough of Pottstown, Pottstown School District, and Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority, the "new" PAID, Inc. has become that economic development driver for Pottstown, working to implement the initiatives set by the ULI study, including opening up the riverfront; encouraging high-value employment; expanding market choices for new housing and revitalizing existing housing; and accommodating a vibrant downtown.
PAID, Inc. is governed by a 15-member board of directors, administered by an executive director, and includes marketing and visioning, infrastructure, business liaison, and grants and funding committees.
